Silver Monkeys in Akagera

Hi Philip,

I recently returned from a superb trip to Rwanda. I thought you might be interested to know that I recorded a Silver (=Blue) Monkey on the 27 July 2009 in Akagera National Park, in the taller trees along the edge where Lakes Ihema and Birengero meet (I guess the latter is basically an extension of the former, with just a huge papyrus reedbed separating them). You mention in the Bradt guide that the status of Silver Monkey in the park is unclear and perhaps extinct since the park was reduced in size.

All the best

    Hi Callan and Phillip,

We also saw a blue monkey on the edge of Lake Ihema (between Ihema and Shakani) at the end of April. Fabulous!
