Some general tips

Hi, useful book but there are a couple of important pieces of info missing –

Rwanda uses European 2-pin electrical sockets (unlike neighboring Tanzania who use British-style 3-pin ones).

Few of the streets of Kigali have pavements (sidewalks) and many have open storm drains by then. So be careful walking, especially after dark, as there aren’t many street lights. A torch would be handy, or take a taxi…

But, having said that, I walk a lot here (taxis are very expensive – it seems 2000 to 4000 francs is normal for a drive across town) and I am always stared at – it seems the vast majority of foreigners here are driving around in jeeps. And the only locals who walk are those who can’t afford a car or taxi!
