Musanze Caves

Jon writes:

The Musanze Caves can now only be visited on a guided tour with the RDB, and a passport is now absolutely required in order to book a visit. We didn’t realise this but were saved by the fact that we had done gorilla tracking the day before, and they found our passport copies. A lot of bureaucracy is involved – it took us more than one hour to get the cave permit after many handwritten papers. Having done this, the caves are very insignificant compared with any major caves in Europe, not to mention Son Doong, and certainly not worth the price of US$50pp – but there is nothing much else to do in Musanze.
