A friend and I are considering going gorilla tracking in Rwanda next year, but have also seen some websites where tracking Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park in DCR are included. Do you have any up-to-date information about this, including whether it is safe to go there at the moment.
My friend is currently reading the Bradt Rwanda Guide.
Hi Ann,
Sorry I have no information more up-to-date than the short mention in the 5th edition of Bradt Rwanda.
It might be worth posting your question on a forum like the Thorn Tree & seeing if you can get feedback from other travellers.
Cheers, Philip

Hey there Ann, I live and work in Kigali / Rwanda since 2006 where I am a tour operator covering all 5 East African countries. I have organized the occasional trip to Kahuzi Biega NP although the last one I did was quite some time back in 2012. I suggest you contact “Marcel” who is the owner of “Mapendano Tours” here in Rwanda * DRC who does a lot of trips in DRC. All contacts to him are found on the “Rwanda Tours & Travel Association” (RTTA) website – http://www.rttarwanda.org/members.php – as are all us operators who are registred and approved members of the association. Good luck! Kristofer Zachrisson
this book is very Utille even if you do not know the history of the gorilla, you’re in action
You have a interesting blog here,I will start reading more. Please take a look at my website,I have a great article about the last king of Rwanda in Africa,I’m trying to raise awareness because his return in the region would bring peace to the great lake region in central Africa. Thanks
